My mom made awesome costumes for my siblings and I when we were growing up. Perhaps the best one ever was the rainbow she made for my sister, sewing yards and yards of satin ribbon to a black leotard. Tyler always worked with his mom to make costumes from scratch as well. So there is a strict rule in our house that Halloween costumes must be homemade. We have bins of store-bought super hero getups that are worn (daily) throughout the year, but on the big night it has to be homemade. The negotiations for this year are still in session. I’ll keep you posted on what we settle on.
