Chicago has been my hometown since I was four years old. I grew up in the city, went to college in the city, started my business here and all three of my sons were born in Chicago proper. This place means a lot to me. So when my birthday rolled around this year I asked my boys if we could spend a day being tourist in the place we call home. We visited Buckingham fountain, had a cupcake picnic and went to Navy pier for the swing ride. And while I ate too much cake, I got motion sickness on the swing and had to rush home for nap time – it was a really perfect birthday. A perfect end to our summer of fun.
