HOLIDAY: Cocoa Tray

I’m excited to start sharing holiday projects and ideas with you this week. Some of these goodies have been in the works for a while and some have fallen in my lap only recently. Today we get started with perhaps the simplest idea and it is one that I use all year long – wrapping paper as placemat/doily or just general decorative flair.

Hot cocoa, the really good stuff, the kind that tastes like melted chocolate bars is one of my favorite desserts after a hearty holiday meal.  Presentation is half the fun of sweet treats, don’t you think? So when I make this rather simple offering to guests I like to turn up the “packaging.” Just a sip of Vosges Drinking Chocolate in my favorite Intelligentsia cappuccino cups topped with fresh whipped cream and these XL sprinkles is hard to resist. Here I have lined a lacquer tray with a sheet of #1736 Cocoa Cups wrap by measuring the interior of the tray and cutting the sheet to just a 1/4 inch smaller on each side. So easy and so festive.

This could easily translate into a thoughtful gift for your favorite cocoa lover. Here are the parts I would suggest to pull together something a little over the top – but not soon forgotten I am sure.
1. West Elm Tray 2. Vosges Aztec Elixir 3. S&G Cocoa Cups Wrap 4. Gourmet Whip 5. Bowl of Cherries Sprinkles 6. notNeutral cappuccino set
