Favorite: Vosges Haut-Chocolat

I hope the Easter bunny is reading, because this is ALL I need in my basket this year. Organic dark and white chocolate + organic Reishi mushroom + hazelnuts, I cannot wait to taste this Enchanted Mushroom. When I first laid eyes on this charming confection I smiled from ear to ear. They are always up to something adventurous over there at Vosges and while mushrooms and chocolate sounds unusual, I am sure it is inspired.

If you have a minute you should read about the inspiration for this merry band of music makers. The rooster pulls on my heart strings as this is one of the nicknames I call my Ridley and so you can bet these will be making an appearance at our Easter celebration.

Vosges is a favorite for several reasons, not the least of which that it is outrageously good and, like Snow & Graham, based in Chicago. Their first shop in Bucktown was just a few blocks from my old apartment. This is where I first sampled the truffle that keeps me coming back after all these years. The unexpected and remarkable pairing of black sesame seed, ginger and wasabi with the dark chocolate they call The Black Pearl. This and Tyler’s favorite Naga truffle were featured on the dessert table at our wedding. I remember before dinner a friend pointing out that my 8 year old nephew was “throwing ’em down like gum balls” and worrying that there would be none left for the rest of us. My nephew has really good taste.
